Newsletter 5

Dear Family and Friends

The past four months since our last newsletter has been an extremely busy and sometimes frustrating, but when we need it the most we always received a true blessing from the Lord, in the form of, a personal word of encouragement or an increase in our support or an open door for us to present and speak at. The frustrations have come in many forms, with personal spiritual attacks, having to delay our departure date (but this has taught us God’s timing, not Norm and Noeline’s timing). Also we have had our budget revised twice, due to the falling Australian dollar and the 2016 CPI increases, which has pushed up our budget from forty two thousand dollars to over fifty thousand dollars, in a two month period. However when we reach our target it will be truly, To God be the Glory, for we have learnt throughout this journey its God’s way that works not ours. The verses that have truly been a blessing and comfort to us both are, Philippians 4: 6, 7, Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. And Isaiah 40:31, but those who wait on the LORD, SHALL renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

The way we have been doing our support raising is what they call “Friend Raising” which is to approach family and friends that we have known throughout the years and have coffee or a meal together. Then also approach the churches we have had association with, this in our case has taken us to eighteen churches so far. Some time we have just visited the church and personally shared our story after church over a cuppa, or doing our fifteen minute presentation and then Norm sharing the message. This has been truly a blessing to us, catching up with old friends and brothers and sisters in Christ. Visiting churches that encourage us and want to share with us in our journey by either financially supporting us or as pray partners.

We have now also taken up the challenge of living in the 21′t century and have embraced social media, we now have a Facebook page and a Web/Blog site.

Facebook:         Norm and Noeline in Africa

Web/Blog:         Norm and Noeline Scott

Please follow our journeys on these two sites, we will try and keep these up to date.

Our new departure date is January 2016, or soon thereafter depending on us reaching our new support budgets. Our financial position at present is 90% for our Outgoings budget (the one off setup budget) and 46% of our ongoing support budget. We are currently looking at downsizing our belongings, investigating storage options for our departure. With this, our time at East Gosford is running out, due to the owner’s returning early New Year, we will be out no later than the 10th January 2016, which will be perfect timing for us to depart for Africa. We are praying and trusting that this is the case.

We are planning to have a “Norm and Noeline’s Excellent African Adventure” being a Fund Raising afternoon on Saturday the 14th of November at 2:00pm at Wyoming Church of Christ. You, your friends and their families are most welcome to come along.

We really ask you now to seriously pray about how you can partner with us, our outstanding requirement is $26,712, when broken down we need 22 more partners at $100 per month, or 30 more partners at $75 per month, or 45 more partners at $50 per month, or one off gifts.

Please find attached our support form, this can be completed as you are lead to financial support us and receive our ongoing newsletters.
